The Village Church at Shell Point Presents Two Tenors, Barry Craft and Ben Owens

FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 3, 2008) — The first concert for the 2008/2009 Season of Praise Concert Series at The Village Church at Shell Point Retirement Community will be this Sunday, November 9. The Two Tenors, Barry Craft and Ben Owens, will perform at 6:15pm, and tickets are still available for $10 a person.

“The Season of Praise has been an annual event for many years at The Village Church and continues to expand each year,” says Pastor Woods. “The Two Tenors will offer a great start to the 2008-2009 Season Of Praise concert series, and will set the tone for the rest of the season.”

An American trained artist, tenor Barry Craft has earned the reputation as one of the most sought-after singers of the current generation. His lyric tenor is especially suited to the very high tessitura found in the Bel Canto operas of Bellini, Donizetti, and in symphonic works such as Orff’s Carmina Burana.

Ben Owens is an extremely versatile artist. He has a beautiful voice suited to both contemporary and traditional singing styles. Barry says of Ben: “I have heard a lot of young musicians on my musical journey. They tend to be excellent in the studio and then fall apart in front of an audience of any size. It is the audience that brings out the best in Ben. His musical artistry level is far beyond his actual age. Even more important Ben is a dedicated Christian young man and a Christian example to all people of his generation.”
