THE SHELL POINT GOLF CLUB DONATES FUNDS TO WORTHY CHARITY

FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 20, 2010) – Shell Point Golf Club raised $260 for the Folds of Honor Foundation at the recent Patriot Golf Day held in September. Veterans were invited to play at the Shell Point Golf Club for only $30 and received 3 golf balls with the Folds of Honor logo, a drink, complimentary range balls, and 18 holes of golf.
The golf club had 333 rounds of golf played from September 3 through September 6. The money generated by this effort will be used by the Folds of Honor to benefit post educational scholarships for children and spouses of military men and women killed or disabled while serving our nation.

“It was truly an honor to participate in such a worthy cause,” said Michael Mongoven, Director of Golf for Shell Point Golf Club. “Being able to do something for the military and their families meant the world to me and my staff, and we hope that they know how much we all appreciate their sacrifices. It was also a pleasure to offer something special to the veterans who played and I know everyone had a great time here because every day is always a great day for golf here at the Shell Point Golf Club.”

Patriot Golf Day is the flagship fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides postsecondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women disabled or killed while serving our great nation.
