FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 3, 2011) – The Shell Point Golf Club will offer a Junior Golf Camp to golfers age 7 to 15 years old. The four day camp will be held at the Shell Point Golf Club from 9am to 12:30pm on June 13, 14, 15, and 16.

Classes will be directed by Teaching Professional Steve Pereira, while being supervised by PGA Golf Professional, Michael Raber. The program will review all aspects involved with the game of golf including etiquette, rules, short game, and full swing. The cost is $100 for the camp and it is recommended that participating juniors have their own golf clubs and pull cart. To register for the Junior Golf Camp, please call the Shell Point Golf Club at (239) 433-9790.

Participants must register in the Golf Shop prior to every session. Each session will include specialized instruction for an hour and a half, a brief break, which will then be followed by a nine hole game of golf.

“In Southwest Florida, golf is part of many lifestyles and communities,” said Michael Raber, PGA Golf Professional. “We want to offer the local youth a chance to improve their golf game while also allowing them to take advantage of the summer months when they are out of school and can enjoy learning more about the game of golf.”

The Shell Point Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship Golf Course that opened in 2000 and was designed by Gordon Lewis. The course offers a grass driving range and practice green, lessons, a fully-stocked pro shop and snack bar, and all the course golf carts are equipped with Uplink GPS monitors. The course is open to the public, and is located at the entrance to Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Florida, just off Summerlin Road, two miles before the Sanibel Island Causeway.
