The Sanibel Trio is an unusual combination of a violinist, violist and a pianist all of whom are residents of Sanibel Island. Renata Arado, Espen Lilleslatten, and Erik Entwistle formed their intimate group in 2016. The unique mixture of instruments allows audiences to experience both familiar and lesser-known musical masterpieces, as well as works that have been composed or arranged especially for the group. During this performance on Monday, May 22, enjoy Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio, Bach’s Jesu Bleibet Meine Freude and Erik Entwistle’s own Sanibel Suite.Acclaimed pianist Richard Dowling Presents Great Scott!, a solo piano recital featuring all six of Scott Joplin’s piano works used in the 1974 Academy-Award-winning movie The Sting, plus many other well-known and rarely-heard works of Joplin. Dowling will conclude with a magnificent piano transcription of A Real Slow Draw, the final number from Scott Joplin’s opera Tremonisha on Friday, June 16.

On Tuesday, July 18, Miami Music Festival assembles some of the most talented young singers from the top American conservatories and music schools. This summer, East Coast meets West Coast when a group of exceptional vocalists bring a collection of exhilarating opera arias and poignant American art songs to Shell Point. Enjoy this evening of exquisite music with the next generation of singing stars!

Don’t miss an old world flavor performance at Shell Point on Tuesday, August 29, as Amernet String Quartet presents a chamber-style setting that lets audience members mix and mingle with performers. The quartet is comprised of cellist Jason Calloway, along with violinists Misha Vitenson, Franz Felkl, and Michael Klotz. The talented ensemble of musicians have garnished recognition as one of today’s exceptional string quartets, praised for their “intelligence” and “immensely satisfying” sound.

Wild Coffee Duo is a classically trained chamber music group formed in 2015 by pianist Abbey Allison and cellist Susie Kelly. Shell Point’s Summer Series will conclude on Thursday, Sept. 7, with a performance from this versatile and musically inclined pair.
