Village Church Announces Free Concert Series

Nationally Renowned Performers, and You’re Invited

FORT MYERS, FL (December 5, 2000) – The Village Church at Shell Point is pleased to present the 2000-2001 Concert Series. The concert series has been an outreach ministry of The Village Church since its inception 29 years ago. Throughout that time people have been strengthened, encouraged, and motivated in their relationship with a personal Savior through the medium of music.

2000 Christmas Pageant
December 16 & 17, 2000 – 7 p.m.

There may be no place like home for the holidays, but there’s no better place to celebrate the birth of the Savior than The Village Church! Now in its 4th season, the annual Christmas Pageant combines pageantry with artistry to bring an evening of celebration that truly reminds us of the meaning of the season. Bring the entire family and enjoy the many dazzling sights and sounds of the holidays as we “Celebrate the Child Who is The Light!”

Ralna English
January 7, 2001 – 6 p.m.

From her roots in a small west Texas town to her home on The Lawrence Welk Show, Ralna English has become known and loved by audiences across the country! Her dynamic vocal abilities and engaging personality capture audiences wherever she goes. Each performance has a style all its own, with an effervescence that lingers long after the concert is over. This will be an evening you will not soon forget!

Diane Bish
January 14, 2001 – 6 p.m.

The “First Lady of the Organ” returns for an encore performance at The Village Church! As a concert and recording artist, composer, conductor, and international television personality, Diane Bish has displayed her dazzling virtuosity and unique showmanship the world over. Her television series, The Joy of Music, combines exhilarating organ and ensemble performances with informative, inspirational narrative and exciting world travel. With a standing-room-only crowd last year, you won’t want to miss one exciting note of this year’s concert!

A Festival of Keyboards
February 4, 2001 – 6 p.m.

Imagine an evening of spectacular piano music, and then multiply that by four pianos! That’s what you’ll experience with A Festival of Keyboards. Featuring artists Stephen Nielsen, Ovid Young, Jeff Bennett, and Mark Hayes, this virtuoso-times-four performance will leave you enthralled. From classical to pop to sacred favorites, this evening promises something for everyone!

Let Freedom Ring – presented by the Sanctuary Choir
February 18, 2001 – 6 p.m.

Travel across this great land of ours through inspiring music, spectacular costumes and scenery, and even a few bursts of confetti! With thank-yous to those who have answered the call of duty through military service, this evening is truly a celebration that praises God for his ultimate gift of Freedom!

Dave Boyer
March 4, 2001 – 6 p.m.

Dave Boyer is big band inspirational music! Beyond that, Dave sings about the grace, forgiveness and love of Christ. Through ever-changing musical trends, Dave has remained true to his first love — the big band style. And fans quickly realize that his smooth renditions are unparalleled. Strike up the band, and enjoy an evening with Dave Boyer!

Jenni Till and Russ McCorkle
March 18, 2001 – 6 p.m.

From their first encounter, these two consummate artists knew they were uniquely linked through the Spirit of God! Jenni’s appearances with the Billy Graham Crusades, the Coral Ridge Concert Series, and numerous symphony orchestras, along with Russ’ well-known artistry throughout southwest Florida will couple together to give us an evening of unforgettable splendor and musical beauty – all for the glory of God!
