The Community Thrift Store Offers 50% Off All Clothing Items in September!

FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 23, 2011) –  The Community Thrift Store in south Ft. Myers has had great sales since it opened in July, and will offer 50% off all clothing items during the month of September. “The first few months of operation for the Thrift Store have certainly been very successful,” said Debbie Zeis, manager of the Community Thrift Store. “Local residents have embraced this new opportunity and loved the results of great buys! We have had amazing support in donations as well, so we wanted to share the generosity of the community and offer our men’s and women’s clothing items at 50% off all month in September.”

The Community Thrift Store is located next to Planet Fitness in the Miner’s Plaza on the corner of McGregor and Gladiolus (in the old Kiwanis Thrift Store location). The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome to shop as well as make donations. Proceeds from the store will be used to help provide services to meet the needs of seniors in our area.

The store carries a wide array of items for all shoppers, including furniture, home décor, household goods, CDs, books, games, adult and children’s clothing, jewelry, and more. Plus, this store offers items that are not typically found in resell stores such as building supplies, construction materials, appliances, and fixtures. When an individual or an organization donates items to the store, they receive a tax deductible receipt.

The Community Thrift Store is overseen by Shell Point Retirement Community, which has served seniors in Southwest Florida since 1968 as a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community that offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory and alzheimer’s care, and hospice care.
