FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2020) – The first phase of construction on The Enclave, Shell Point Retirement Community’s newest neighborhood, is complete and several residents have already begun moving into the community.

Located on 19.59 acres along On Par Boulevard within Shell Point Retirement Community, The Enclave features nine single-family homes and 26 villas as well as a 1,600-square-foot community center. Construction is complete on 22 of the single-family homes and villas, and construction continues on the remaining homes. The single-family homes range from 2,316 to 2,744 square feet, plus lanai, with either a three-bedroom, two-bathroom floorplan or a three-bedroom, three-bathroom, plus den. The villas range from 1,632 to 2,001 square feet, plus lanai, with either a two-bedroom, two-bathroom floorplan or a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, plus den.

Designed by RDG Planning & Design, the private, gated neighborhood is surrounded by the natural beauty of a nearby golf course and offers scenic lake views. Shell Point Retirement Community engaged RDG to design The Enclave’s residential layout and dedicated community center, where residents have easy access to high-end amenities that encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.

The architectural design for the community center incorporates views of the nearby lake as well as a swimming pool, outdoor shower, deck seating under a large shade structure and accessible restrooms. Mirroring the vintage style of the surrounding neighborhood, RDG’s design creates a charming, familiar aesthetic reflective of the community’s location in Southwest Florida.

The interiors of the community center were created by Meghan Kolund, design director at Wegman Design Group in Naples.

The Enclave community center will host neighborhood get-togethers and various resident-life functions such as card and game groups.

“The interior of the community building features a great room concept with a refined contemporary design that features a wood-trimmed coffered ceiling, modern linear chandeliers, dark wood furnishings, a large screen TV, and a streamlined kitchen with dark grey wood cabinetry, Cambria quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Set amid these upscale interior finishes, the large gathering room provides space for residents to come together to socialize,” Kolund said.

The Enclave community center is set among the fairways and lakes of Shell Point’s championship golf course.

The architectural designs of the 35 single-family homes and attached villas in The Enclave neighborhood were created by Annette Nilles, president of Nilles Design Group. The homes feature old-Florida design elements that are enhanced by the native landscaping design created by Stantec Landscape Architecture.

According to Adam Hinds, vice president of operations for Shell Point Retirement Community, the remaining homes in The Enclave are in various stages of construction, which is progressing on schedule.

“We are excited that new residents have begun moving into the neighborhood and we look forward to welcoming more in the near future,” Hinds said. “As construction continues, two to four homes will be completed each month through January 2021.”

The general contractor for The Enclave is Wright Construction Group. Civil engineering services for land development of the community elevations, drainage and roadways were provided by Johnson Engineering.
