Shell Point’s Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries speaker series welcomes Dr. Shane Shapiro of the Mayo Clinic

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 7, 2019) – Shell Point kicks off its fourth annual 2019 Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries series with a presentation by Dr. Shane Shapiro of the Mayo Clinic, taking place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Village Church Auditorium on The Island at Shell Point. This educational health care program, entitled “Clinical Applications of Regenerative Medicine,” is free and open to the public. To learn more or to register, call 239-433-7936.

Dr. Shane Shapiro is a nationally recognized physician and the medical director of the regenerative medicine therapeutics program at the Mayo Clinic Center for Regenerative Medicine. During this presentation, he will describe the current state of regenerative medicine applications available to patients in clinical practice. He will also debunk many of the myths and misleading information accompanying such treatments while highlighting legitimate progress in the field, such as the use of stem cells that may become available in the near future.

The 2019 Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries series is an annual community health care speaker program that serves as a resource for residents in the greater Fort Myers area. All Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries events are free to the public, and will be held in the Village Church Auditorium on The Island at Shell Point, located at 15100 Shell Point Blvd. in Fort Myers.
