SHELL POINT RETIREMENT COMMUNITY RECEIVES IMAGE AWARD FOR WEBSITE

FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 20, 2012)

Members of the Marketing Department of Shell Point Retirement Community received a local image award from the Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA (Florida Public Relations) for the Shell Point website. Mike Haber, Web Master for Shell Point Retirement Community; and Richard Cerrina, Art Director for Shell Point Retirement Community received an Award of Distinction for the Redesign of www.shellpoint.org.

Shell Point updated online presence, both visually and functionally, to meet their goal of creating a dynamic site that properly reflects the thriving community and special residents that make Shell Point truly unique. Utilizing modern web technologies, a foundation was built that acts as the hub of their current and future online initiatives with three main objectives built-in to the design and construction. The site first serves as a host for the vast array of engaging multimedia content Shell Point has developed, including virtual tours; video testimonials; photo galleries; floor plans and the monthly community magazine, Shell Point Life. Next is the site’s ability to provide tools for starting and maintaining on-going conversations with prospective residents. Numerous features were incorporated for lead generation and tracking, detailed analytics reporting, as well as integration of social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter to facilitate a continued conversation and word-of-mouth marketing. Finally, the site serves as a repository of news and information that encourages repeat viewership and attendance to the many sales and concert events on property through the use of event listing/sign-up features, specialized concert series pages, and e-commerce functionality.

The local Image Awards competition is conducted annually by each chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism. Entries must meet the highest standard of production, execution, and evaluation of results and budget to receive award honors, and are judged by accredited Public Relations professionals across the state.
