SHELL POINT GOLF CLUB WELCOMES NEW GOLF PRO

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 28, 2010) – The Shell Point Golf Club, located at Shell Point Retirement Community, welcomes Michael Raber as the new Head Golf Professional. Raber is a certified PGA Golf Professional, and has over six years of Head Professional Golf Experience.
“We are very excited to have Mr. Raber join our team at the Shell Point Golf Club,” said Michael Mongoven, Director of Golf for Shell Point Golf Club. “He brings a lot of experience to the club, and we know that his arrival will continue to make sure that every day is a great day for golf at the Shell Point Golf Club.”

Raber graduated from Brockport State University in 1994 with a degree in finance, and began his golf course career at the Skaneateles Country Club in 1996 as an Assistant. In 2000, Raber worked as the Assistant Golf Professional for Gulf Harbour Golf and Country Club, and briefly moved to Massachusetts in 2003 to work at Townsend Ridge Country Club and Butter Brook Golf Club. Prior to becoming the Head Golf Professional at Shell Point, Raber worked at the Copperhead Golf Club and The Country Club of Naples.

The Shell Point Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship Golf Course that opened in 2000. The course offers a grass driving range and practice green, lessons, Shell Point Golf School, a fully-stocked pro shop and snack bar, and all the course golf carts are equipped with GPS monitors. The course is open to the public, and is located at the entrance to Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Florida, just off Summerlin Road, two miles before the Sanibel Island Causeway.
