Shell Point Golf Club Offers Summer Clinic For Junior Golfers

FORT MYERS, FL (June 13 , 2008) – The Shell Point Golf Club will offer Junior Golf lessons to golfers age 7 to 15 years old. These clinics will be held at the Shell Point Golf Club on Wednesday of each week for six consecutive weeks starting on June 25 and ending on July 30.

Classes will be directed by Teaching Professionals Steve Pereira and Nick Macenas, while being supervised by PGA Golf Professional, Jim Carpenter. The program will consist of all aspects involved with the game of golf including etiquette, rules, short game, and full swing. The cost is $25 for each session and it is recommended that participating juniors have their own golf clubs and pull cart.

Each class session will begin at 9am and end at 12:30pm. Participants must register in the Golf Shop every session. Every session will begin with rules and etiquette instruction, then move to golf instruction on the range, followed by a nine hole game of golf and a light lunch.

“Here in Southwest Florida, golf is a part of many lifestyles and communities,” said Jim Carpenter, PGA Golf Professional. “Offering young people the opportunity to participate in golf lessons is beneficial for them, and allows them to take advantage of the summer months when they are out of school and can enjoy learning the game of golf.”

The Shell Point Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship Golf Course that opened in 2000. The course offers a grass driving range and practice green, lessons, a fully-stocked pro shop and snack bar, and all the course golf carts are equipped with Uplink GPS monitors.
