SHELL POINT ASSISTED LIVING HOSTS ‘HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS’ EVENT

FORT MYERS, Fla. ( November 26, 2012 ) – Shell Point Retirement Community’s Assisted Living facilities will host a “Home for the Holidays” event to allow individuals the opportunity to learn more about the assisted living options at Shell Point. This event will take place on December 22, 23, 24, 26, and 27 from 10a.m. to 5p.m. at The Springs Assisted Living, located at the entrance to Shell Point.

“The holidays are a time when families gather together to celebrate; however, they can also be a time for discussing the future,” said McKenzie Millis, Assisted Living Healthcare Marketing Specialist for Shell Point. “Individuals concerned for a parent or loved one may find it difficult to discuss such serious issues as healthcare, transportation, driving, and even a decline in health. That’s why this event is so helpful. Families can get information on how to approach this conversation from experienced professionals at Shell Point.”

Assisted Living at Shell Point is designed to create a homelike environment, while offering resort-style services and features to assist in maintaining optimum health and independence; with the reassurance of knowing that assistance is always available should it be needed. According to Millis, Shell Point Retirement Community offers the finest assisted living choices available with a variety of price points and floor plans to choose from.

Shell Point Assisted Living Representatives will be on hand the days prior and following Christmas Day from 10a.m. until 5p.m. to tour families around Shell Point’s newest assisted living facility The Springs and to answer their questions. Guests are encouraged to call (239) 454-2077 to schedule a tour.

New to the Shell Point lifecare tradition, The Springs, offers assisted living services to the public on a month-to-month private pay basis. The Springs assisted living services are available at an economical rate while maintaining the high quality care that Shell Point is well known for. “Providing assisted living services on a monthly basis, allows residents a higher degree of flexibility and provides seasonal and respite stay options,” said Millis.

The location of The Springs at the entrance to Shell Point is less than two miles from the Sanibel Island causeway. This location, in addition to Shell Point’s comprehensive resident activities and healthcare services, are just some of the many benefits that residents of the facility enjoy. Assisted living provides the added security of access to the network of quality health care services provided by the Shell Point health care team, when and if those services are needed. The facility’s amenities and services include a heated swimming pool, exercise facilities, transportation, dining, 24-hour healthcare staffing, and a professional activities leader who coordinates high-quality events and activities, educational and entertainment programs, and opportunities for socialization and personal growth.

Shell Point Retirement Community is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located in Fort Myers just off Summerlin Road and McGregor Boulevard, two miles before the Sanibel causeway. Shell Point has received national accreditation from CARF-CCAC, and is a nationally recognized leader in the retirement industry.
