Dr. Kent Moors Kicks Off The Inaugural Speaker Series At Shell Point

FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 7, 2009) — Dr. Kent Moors, International Oil Policy and Business Expert, will launch the inaugural Speaker Series at Shell Point Retirement Community. Dr. Moors will speak on Friday, January 16, 2009 7:00 p.m. in the Village Church Auditorium. The 2009 Speaker Series at Shell Point also includes Veteran TV Journalist, and FOX News Anchor, Chris Wallace and the Shroud of Turin photographer Barrie Schwortz.

After experiencing all-time highs, gas prices are now dropping due to a worldwide credit crisis and volatility in the energy markets. Dr. Moors’ highly engaging and timely presentation will focus on how the approaching worldwide recession will create a new stage in the global oil crisis. He will apply his decades of international experience to the questions of why the next wave of price changes in oil products will be even more volatile, and what we must do as a nation to meet this latest crisis.

Dr. Moors is a well known expert in oil and natural gas policy and finance as well as global risk management. He has been an advisor to the highest levels of the United States and foreign governments, and a consultant to private companies in 23 countries. Dr. Moors is particularly known for his targeted assessments during crises or times of rapid change.

Dr. Moors is the founder and director of the Energy Policy Research Group at Duquesne University, providing analysis and recommendations on a range of energy issues. He has written more than 650 articles and spoken in 41 countries, and has been a regular commentator on radio and television programs including Fox Business Network.

“Oil prices in the past year have fluctuated dramatically from very high to some of the lowest prices we have seen in nearly a decade,” said Dawn Boren, director of resident life for Shell Point. “I believe that residents of Shell Point, along with residents in our surrounding community, will find this topic to be very interesting, and learn about how some of these changes occur.”

All three speaker presentations will be held in The Village Church auditorium on the Island at Shell Point on, January through March. Tickets are available as a subscription to the entire Speaker Series for $90, or if you wish to just attend Dr. Moors’ presentation, you may purchase tickets for $35.
