On October 12, Shell Point held a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening event to celebrate the completion of The Club at Shell Point.
Located at the Shell Point Golf Course, this $14 million, 35,000-square-foot clubhouse opened its doors after a 525-day project involving hundreds of participants. The entire project required an estimated 120,000 man hours working with more than 60 subcontractors and vendors, resulting in:
- More than 22,000 square feet of custom-color concrete roof tile
- An estimated 15,000 man hours for concrete/masonry work: 1,054 cubic yards of concrete; 33,849 masonry blocks; and 119,084 pounds of reinforcing steel
- A wind rating of 173mph, to withstand a Category 4 hurricane
