FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 15, 2011) – On Friday, September 30, Shell Point Retirement Community will host an employment fair in The Woodlands neighborhood of the community. Due to the planning and construction of The Springs at Shell Point, a new assisted living facility for the property, there will be 50+ available job opportunities created.
From 8am until 1pm, and then again from 3pm until 7pm, individuals interested in employment with Shell Point can visit the property to apply for a variety of upcoming positions. The event will take place in the Grand Cypress Room of The Woodlands at Shell Point, located at 14441 Woodsong Lane, and attendees should follow the signs to parking.
“The Barbary Coast Dixieland Band is such a popular group, and when we have had them perform on property in years past, they have received excellent reviews and attendance,” said Dawn Boren, director of resident life for Shell Point Retirement Community. “They always manage to get audience members toe-tapping to every song they play, and offer a vibrant energy that visitors can feel from the stage, so we are very happy to have them offer another wonderful performance.”
The show will take place on the first and second floors of the Woodlands Commons, and will feature a large assortment of quality crafts for sale. All of the items are handmade by the residents of Shell Point, and include beautiful handbags, wood sculptures, pottery, pet outfits, toys, books, jewelry, cards, and more. Home decorations and baked goods will also be sold during the event. And after shopping, guests can visit one of Shell Point’s onsite restaurants to enjoy a light snack or a full lunch. Each venue offers varied menu selections at competitive prices.
The hotel, which is owned by Shell Point, has been in operation since 2001. Its last official day of operation as a hotel will be Monday, September 12, and a major renovation will begin immediately to convert the building into the non-profit community’s third assisted living facility.
