(January 27, 2018) – Shell Point Retirement Community continues the Concerts & Conversations program of its 2017-2018 Concert Series with a performance by Washington Saxophone Quartet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Grand Cypress Room at The Woodlands at Shell Point. Washington Saxophone Quartet taps into a rich repertoire from early music to newly commissioned works, drawing on a wealth of experience to reach listeners of every age and background. FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 11, 2018) — Shell Point has announced the roster for its third annual 2018 Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries speaker series, a free community healthcare resource for residents in the greater Fort Myers area.

This educational series, sponsored by the Legacy Foundation in conjunction with Shell Point Wellness Connections, will feature prominent local and national experts who will address recent advances in the fields of global healthcare, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Shell Point’s 2017-2018 Concert Series welcomes Barrage 8 Feb. 9

FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 10, 2018) – Shell Point Retirement Community’s 2017-2018 Concert Series will present a live performance from Barrage 8 at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 at the Village Church on The Island at Shell Point, as part of the concert series’ Performing Arts program. Featuring a compilation of violinists, violist, cellist and double bassist, Barrage 8 has established itself as one of the pre-eminent string music performance ensembles in the world. The group has performed more than 3,000 shows in 27 countries over a 17-year career, building a reputation for energizing audiences from start to finish.

With a musical selection ranging from 70s rock to jazz, classical, and blues numbers, in addition to original compositions, concert-goers can anticipate an infectious, high-energy show from Barrage 8’s Shell Point Concert Series performance. The show will feature elaborate choreography and captivating rhythms presented by Barrage 8 performers as an ensemble, as well as soloists, in trios and in other collaborations.

Senior talent showcased at 2018 Shell Point Art Show and Sale Feb. 16-18

FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 3, 2018) – Shell Point Retirement Community invites the community and art enthusiasts to join its 2018 Shell Point Art Show and Sale, taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, Feb. 17, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18. Open to the public and free to attend, the event will be held at the Grand Cypress Room at The Woodlands at Shell Point.

For those who wish to be inspired by local artists, or enhance their collection with a new piece, the art exhibition will offer a variety of oil and acrylic paintings, photographs, watercolors, pastels, collages and other two-dimensional art. Hosted by the talented residents of Shell Point, the 2018 Shell Point Art Show and Sale will feature original works by Shell Point artists, many of whom were featured in 2017’s highly successful Ageless Creativity exhibition at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers.
