FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 17, 2008) — Mark Tesoro, MA, recently joined the Shell Point Memory Care department as the Program Manager according to Steve Minniear, Vice President of Healthcare Services for Shell Point Retirement Community.
Shell Point’s Memory Care Center, located in the Larsen Pavilion, dedicates an entire floor of resources to patients in need of these services. Therapeutic recreation programs are tailored to strengthen both mind and body. Those with early-stage memory loss reside in a separate area, so that they may enjoy the highest degree of independence possible. With a staff of five full-time physicians, two nurse practitioners, 66 licensed nurses, 89 certified nursing assistants, and a myriad of other health care professionals including social workers and therapists, Shell Point focuses on exceeding the expectations of care and services that are offered. Shell Point is working at the forefront of healthcare with local community groups, and making advances in the field, which ensures that patients in the Larsen Pavilion receive the best care available.
