An Evening of Celebration – Pat Boone Delights Shell Point Residents

FORT MYERS – There’s never a dull moment at Shell Point! Residents recently enjoyed an exciting evening of delicious food and entertainment featuring Pat Boone, at a gala celebration held in February at the retirement community.

Pat Boone

Mr. Boone, well into his 70s, proved that age has not slowed him down or diminished his charisma. He delighted the audience of more than 1,000 people with stories about his early years in Hollywood, recollections of his musical career, and personal accounts of his passion for educating young children about the importance of patriotism. Boone sang some of his classic hits such as “April Love” and “Love Letters in the Sand”, along with a medley of patriotic songs, accompanied by a video montage of scenes from across the United States.

A gifted entertainer, Pat Boone, some may say, was an original “American Idol.” With his trademark white buck shoes, perfectly combed hair, and gleaming smile, his career boasts 38 top-40 hits and the sale of 45 million albums.

In addition to Pat Boone, residents enjoyed a piano performance by Randy and Karen Woods. Shell Point’s Medical Director, Dr. David Nesselroade, was honored for his ongoing career of distinguished medical care and dedicated service to the community.
