Talking with a wellness professional or even doing research online to be knowledgeable about what you’re eating can go a long way toward dissuading you from making a poor choice. For instance, holiday cookies might not seem as appetizing after researching the effects of artificial flavoring and sugar on your body.
- Overcome the cycles. Break negative cycles of behavior or faulty thought patterns, like those that many have in connection with making and breaking New Year’s resolutions. Ask yourself: How do I feel after heavy eating? How does this affect my digestion and energy levels? What’s a realistic step toward better change? Identifying practical steps before you take action will result in again making better choices – more than a passing resolution.
