Eat Greens to Stay Lean

Unsure of the preventative measures that you can take to help maintain an ideal weight and energetic spunk? Here are a few steps to get you started.

Fuel the machine. There’s a reason dieticians recommend sticking to the perimeter of the grocery store – the most nutritious foods are found there. Fresh fruits, arrays of vegetables, and healthy proteins all reside on the border of every major food mart. Think of your body as an engine, it won’t operate to its fullest potential without the best fuel running through it.

Self-control. Deprivation is not the answer to a healthy wait, moderation is. Consume smaller meals throughout the day, as oppose to not eating and then indulging a huge one. Six small meals a day is ideal: begin with a healthy snack (granola bar), followed by a small breakfast (eggs and a slice of toast), another snack (handful of nuts), lunch (salad), another snack (nuts or fruit), and finish with a lite dinner (grilled chicken and veggies).

Slow and steady wins the race. Slow down and take the time to savor every last bite. A sip of water in between nibbles will help too. Or simply resting your fork after a few chews will help prolong meal-time. When you’re finished, go for a stroll. The best to keep weight off is to walk it off.
