The Village Church Ministries
The ministries of The Village Church at Shell Point encourage spiritual growth and provide opportunities to share gifts and talents for the glory of God.
WORSHIP
The Sanctuary Choir, consisting of more than 80 voices, shares in the ministry of song during weekly and holiday worship services. The choir also works with local musicians and guest artists to present several concerts throughout the year.
The Celebration Ringers, a three-octave English handbell ensemble, adds inspirational music to worship services and holiday events.
Season of Praise Concerts are held throughout the season. This concert series provides worship experiences led by various artists such as Diane Bish, Steve Green, The King's Brass and Ballet Magnificat.
Services at The Arbor, King's Crown & The Pavilion are an extension of the corporate worship service for those unable to attend services at the church.
Television - The Sunday Morning Worship Service is broadcast live on SPTV Channel 12, enabling residents to participate in the ministry even when they cannot attend the service. The morning worship service is also posted on the internet at www.shellpoint.net/shellpointtoday. This gives everyone access to watch the service at their convenience, even while traveling.
FELLOWSHIP
Small Groups - Friendship groups offer all the aspects of corporate worship on a smaller scale, providing opportunities for mutual encouragement, prayer, Bible study and spiritual growth.
Women's Ministries promotes a multifaceted approach for ministering to the women of our community. Focusing on prayer, fellowship, Bible study and outreach, these women are earnestly attempting to meet God in new ways.
DISCIPLESHIP
Christian Life Studies - These Sunday morning Bible studies target various topics designed to broaden our spiritual faith and equip us to serve others.
Alpha - The Alpha Course is an in-depth overview of the basic beliefs of Christianity. It provides an opportunity to explore what you believe and to ask questions about faith and spiritual issues. Over the course of twelve weeks, a thorough presentation of Christian doctrines is given and a bond of friendship emerges as individuals interact about these powerful truths.
Women's Ministries Bible Studies are hosted weekly every fall and spring to encourage and challenge believers as they explore the Scriptures and the life-changing truths they contain.
SERVICE
Memorial Services - We offer several opportunities to honor family members and friends who have passed. We provide as much or as little guidance as you need; from just providing the space, to offering a pastoral message, special music, and other personalized tributes. Please call (239) 454-2147 or e-mail TheVillageChurchSPRC@gmail.com for more information.
Chaplaincy - The Village Church supports employee and health care chaplains to provide non-denominational spiritual care to employees and residents in the assisted living and skilled nursing facilities of The Shell Point Community.
Healing Journey - This bereavement support group is designed for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The six-week series deals with the emotion and the realities of grief in an encouraging and helpful group setting.
Library - Our church library contains a treasure trove of reference books, study books, biographies, fictional books, videos, and audio CDs. All of these items, including recordings of the Sunday morning worship service, are available for use.
MISSION
Stamp Ministry - By processing and selling used stamps to stamp dealers around the world, the stamp ministry has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the publication of Sunday School curriculum overseas.
Missions Focus - Regular monthly highlights and frequent updates from international workers, serve to keep a strong missions’ focus at the heart of Village Church ministry. The fall World Focus Weekend and a week-long Global Impact Week in January provide personal opportunities to interact with workers from around the world.
Women's Ministries Global Outreach Meetings & Prayer - Monthly Global Outreach meetings are opportunities to host a variety of speakers representing both local and international ministries. Weekly prayer groups also gather to pray for the needs of our international workers.
