Kenneth Scott Bartholomew has served as Associate Minister for Assimilation, Outreach and Pastoral Care since May of 2003. With a goal of creating a culture of connectivity and fellowship within the larger context of the church, Scott has endeavored to expand and enhance the relational networks and the church’s community outreach. Small groups and caring networks have been established and enlarged to make the church feel more welcoming and less formal. In addition, the Alpha Program has been a means to both reach out to the community at large and to disciple those within the church.
Scott is a native of Eastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia area) and at the age of six decided to follow Jesus Christ. That early decision has unfolded in Scott’s life in many interest- ing twists and turns. Scott met his wife Sheena (a native of Nassau, Bahamas) at Toccoa Falls College where he graduated with a BA in Missiology. Scott received his M. Div. from Alliance Theological Seminary while serving at Ridgeway Alliance Church in White Plains, NY. (1979-85) Scott and Sheena served as missionaries to Spain but health issues brought them back to the States. Subsequently, Scott served The First Alliance Church of Toledo, OH (1990-98) as Associate Pastor and Valley View Chapel, Long Valley, NJ as Senior Pastor (1998-2003) before coming on staff at The Village Church. Scott and Sheena have been married since 1978 and have three daughters.
It is a joy and a challenge for Scott to see how God uses both His Word and His Spirit in the lives of individuals who have such a wealth of life experience and considers this time of his ministry the most rewarding thus far.
