The Academy of Lifelong Learning welcomes Dr. Chris Votolato for “What’s New in Brain Health” on Monday, June 23 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Grand Cypress Room at The Woodlands at Shell Point Retirement Community.
Dr. Votolato, who is Director of Behavioral Health at Shell Point, will speak about the latest updates in brain health, dementia assessment, and treatment.
In addition to providing on-site service to Shell Point residents, he is passionate about enhancing the future of patient care by participating in ground-breaking research projects. Looking to the future, Dr. Votolato is excited to see progress in the area of Alzheimer’s disease modifying compounds.
“Now all we have is symptom management. But, we currently have several medications in the pipeline that are actually disease modifying, which could significantly alter the course of treatment for this disease,” said Dr. Votolato.
Admission to this informative session is free; however, seating is limited and reservations are required by calling (239) 489-8472.
