Learning How to Bounce Back
PUBLIC INVITED TO SHELL POINT RESILIENCE PROGRAM
FORT MYERS, FL (February 18, 2010) - The Academy at Shell Point invites the public to attend the program, Resilience, on Wednesday February 24, from 10:00am to 11:30am. The presentation will be held in the Grand Cypress Room of The Woodlands neighborhood at Shell Point Retirement Community. Speakers scheduled to participate in this panel presentation are Dr. Nancy Spencer, Clinical Psychologist, Shell Point Behavioral Health Department; Dr. Carol Clark, Nurse Practitioner; and Dr. Sue Stranahan, RN, DrPH, Director of the Department of Spirituality, Shell Point.
“In all stages of life, we come across times in which having the ability to bounce back quickly is crucial,” said Teri Kollath, manager of The Academy and Volunteer Services. “This information is useful regardless of a person’s age and can make the difference in our outlook on life.”
In this panel presentation, attendees will learn about using resilience as the ability to recover quickly from illness, change, or misfortune; buoyancy. The presenters will discuss why some folks have it and others don’t, and what we can do from a mind, body, and spirit perspective to create the buoyancy that will help us "bounce back" from life's inevitable bumps, and even more serious traumas we may face as we go through life.
The event is free; however seating is limited and a reservation is required. Please contact 239-454-2054 to RSVP or for further information.
