Lifelong Learning
Retirement at Shell Point offers opportunities for nurturing the mind through The Academy at Shell Point, an award-winning continuing education program.
The Academy offers a well rounded curriculum to provide the perfect spark to engage the mind, body, and spirit with a host of engaging courses and field trips — presenting well over 100 classes per semester.
Lifelong learning is also promoted through a staffed 8,000-volume library and genealogy resource center, instruction in a multitude of programs and levels are offered in our high-tech computer labs. Wireless hot spots are available in various locations around the community as well as in-home internet access.
Close to all is The Village Church, a place for spiritual growth, fellowship with friends, and a multitude of faith-based programs providing nourishment for the soul such as an annual Bible and missions conferences, sacred concerts, weekly Bible studies, various community programs, and a 4,000-volume Church Library.
